S60 Door Lock Replacement

S60 Door Lock Replacement
Just got done replacing the passenger door lock/latch assembly on my 2002 S60 and thought I 'd share the experience.
First symptom was that the lights didn't flash when locking the doors, then the passenger door lock didn't always lock or unlock when using the remote. Had to cycle it a few times to get it to move.
Decided to replace the lock assembly p/n 30784977. Removing the door panel consists of carefully prying the upper forward triangular cover off (easy), then removing the door handle cover by prying carefully from the bottom. There are two torx screws to remove - one at the top of the handle, the other at the bottom. Then remove all the door panel push pins by depressing the center 1/8 inch and pulling the fastener. You can lower the window to take the panel off, but you will need to raise the window before removing connectors. There are three connectors on the back of the panel (speaker, 2 door switches module) - remove them. Remove the door lock cable by unsnapping from the back of the inner door handle. Remove door panel.
Carefullly peal off the gray door weather proof seal near the door latch. Remove the door lock rod by rotating the yellow retainer to release the rod. Remove the door lock cable. You will need to remove the window aft lower track to get it out of the way to remove the lock/latch. To remove the track, pull the weatherstrip forward out of the track. Drill out the rivet fastening the track lower end (rivet head in door jamb). It is just a slip fit at the track upper end, so you can wiggle and pull down the track to release. Release the outer door handle rod from the clip. This might take a push outboard and maybe a small screwdriver. Remove the three torx screws holding the lock latch actuator at the door jamb, rotate the actuator out of the door and disconnect connector.
To reinstall, reverse directions. I bought a new rivet p/n 986726, but found it was too big for my rivet gun. Ended up using a screw&nut instead. Needed to replace a couple of the door panel pin fasteners p/n 39964090 (dark gray).
I rate this an intermediate job and should take 2-3 hours going slow.

Thanks for post. My assembly is bad too. Just makes some grinding noise. So other day I had door opened up but couldn't get assembly out... LOL.... Didn't know that window track has to come out. So now I know thanks to you.
My question is where did you buy lock assembly p/n 30784977 and how much does it cost ?
Thanks,
