S60 Engine Fan Runs at High Speed
I own a 2006 S60 2.5T. The engine fan has started to run fast and loud all the time. I was told that there is a speed sensor that controls the fan speed based on temperature readings. Does anyone know anything about this? If it is a sensor, can the sensor be replaced without buying a whole new fan assembly? What else should I be looking for?
I had the coolant temp sensor replaced (check engine light was on and engine went to "limp" mode). The fan now runs fast and loud (check engine light is not on). I was told there is a separate speed sensor for the fan.
No codes are currently showing up. I had a check engine problem that indicated air mass meter. They replaced it. Then they discovered a leak in the the air hose from the air mass meter/air filterareato the engine at the "boot". They replaced that. One code said I needed a new A/C sensor. They replaced that. Now the fan runs fast all the time. My A/C condensor does leak and I was planning on replacing it in the Spring. So, what are your thoughts?
Is he a Volvo specialist?
He really needs to read codes out of all the systems including the A/C system.
He would also be able to read all the sensors if he has all the proper equipment.
