Default S60 R headlight problem please help!

Hello all I'm new here and in a bit of bind at at the moment. I have the headlights that shift up and down instead of swiching from high to low beams. A while back I noticed my headlights were aimed really low out of nowhere. It happened while driving on the highway. I was just driving along and my headlights would go from normal aim and then drop and then back to normal as I hit bumps. Now the problem has become perminent and its really affecting my night driving as i can see maybe 15 feet ahead of where im going! When I took off the bulb access cover I noticed a lose wire harness with gray wires and a white clip. Could this wire harness be the problem, or is it something more serious. And I just had it inspected and it failed due to this. Please help!

I am not entirely familiar with everything on the R. I do recall reading about the HID headlights and a leveling sensor located in the back of the car. That harness may lead to that sensor and perhaps its worked its way off. Maybe the headlights are designed to point downward if there is no signal present (better than blinding oncoming traffic) as a safety precaution. If you see something that fits, go for it.

That's my guess.

The 'R' model does NOT have a low beam/high beam. When you hit the high beam switch, it just rotates the headlight up giving you high beams, but still the same wattage, 35w. Not like normal cars where they go from 35w to 55w or so.

You can adjust the height of the beam but using a socket and extension. Right on top of the headlight on the radiator support, you'll notice a small hole that you can put that ext & socket down to attach to the headlight. I think it is a 6mm or maybe a 8mm, not sure right now. But that will turn the headlight up or down for an adjustment.
