S60 headlight fault - HELP PLEASE
Hi all,
Got myself my 1st Volvo S60 nearly 8 months ago. Beautiful car, lovely to drive, no issues .... for a few months. 1st thing, I keep having the side lights pop and go out - not a massive issue as these are in-expensive and easy to replace.
One of my HID bulbs went out about 5 months ago, so I bought 2 replacements (not volvo dealership as these were a staggering £102 each!!). Lights were working perfectly for about a month, then an indicator came up on the dash telling me "headlight failure". My lights were still on, and I did not understand the message. It was not until I returned to my car at night, turned the engine on, and noticed (against a wall infront of my car) that the headlights (on an auto adjust) raised, held in the correct position for roughly 1 - 2 seconds, then lowered back down to a far lower positon (estimate 5 - 6 feet illumination). This happens EVERY time I turn the car on. I have approached a specialist local volvo partnership who, as yet have been unable to plug my car in to further test, but they are unable to help over the phone.
Any thoughts anyone??
Also, very recently (the past 3 - 4 weeks) I have noticed my passenger side headlight keeps going out. This happens when driving on motorways, full lock on car when turning, going over some bumps, going around roundabouts, etc, happen very irregularly. This is becoming a pain in itself. Once again, when I turn the car off and back on again, the headlight does come back on, and can stay on for an extended period of time.
PLEASE HLEP, as these issues are very frustrating
Has anyone else come up against these problems?
Many thanks
Scott
