Default s60 r performance exhaust

hello all,

does anyone have any recommendations for a performance exhaust for my 2004 s60r? with price in mind? Ive looked at ipd and evolve. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I highly suggest going custom.

3" SS mandrel bent downpipe to a 3" SS mandrel bent catback system with a Hi-flow CAT and a straight through performance free flowing muffler (BORLA, MAGNAFLOW). Cost I am guessing anywhere from $500-$1200 to be done locally.

Any time of the year I'd agree going custom would be the way to go but EST has their yearly exhaust sale going on right now until the 31st. There S60R exhaust is usually $899 but they have it on sale for $599.

The ECU flash is definitely worth it.. Its a lot of money, but the gains are substantial..
I'm not sure how it will work on an 04 because you had the limited torque in 1st and 2nd gear, but check this link from IPD

Serious increases in power, but its up to you if you consider the risk on your model worthwhile..
I have seen some nice intakes for the s60r from eurosport tuning.. would be a nice touch I think

+1. From experience on tuning all three of my Volvo's, It is very worth tuning your car! You are in luck because every tuner is running a sale on the software right now.

RICA unit from ViVA $695.00
RICA unit from EST $795.00 plus $50 Gift Certificate
iPd/MTE softloader $895.00 (this is the software I have in both my S60R and 854R, and it is VERY worth it).

There is also a Group Buy going on right now for the Elevate/AutoTech software. Remember there tuner is now AutoTech and no longer Powerchips. I would of never recommend a powerchips tune to anyone due to there blunder on my old S40 T5.

Remember, This only applies to the automatic S60R's in '04 as well as '05.
There is no torque limiting in the 6M's.
Through iPd and RICA you have an option to either remove the torque limiting or keep it in place.

+1. Also known as paying to play, and it is a risk everybody has to consider when they mod a car.

+1. Although I went the custom route through B-Line for my intake (IIRC, only 1 of 4 B-Line intakes out there) with iPd's CAI attached. iPd also has a very nice looking intake as well.

Just on a side note, I was at the IRL race in St. Petersburg FL yesterday and I saw the World Challenge GT Championship race... I cant tell you how proud I felt to see the two Volvo S60R's run by K-Pax Racing BLITZ the entire field, to take a 1-2...
They crushed Vipers, Vettes, Porsche 911 GT3's, Nissan GT-R's... was good fun to see that 5cyl engine showing its worth.. You could see that the crowd didnt expect those volvos, but even on the straights, the vipers and porsches couldnt catch em
