i have a 03 S60 2.4t, my friend has a 02 S40 1.8t, i think, anyway...when i really get on the accelerator i don't really hear much of my turbo spooling up... but when i drive my friends s40 you can really hear the turbo and i really like that! is there any way i can get more noise out of my turbo? i think my turbo is working properly i fell the boost at about 2500 to 3000 RPM and there is no lack of power just not enough noise for my liking! any tips/ideas would help!

 

Cold air intake ?

 

Do you mean like a blow off sound? I've found turbo's get a lot louder with the addition of a very large bore exhaust.

 

1. Is his car stock or modded?

2. If you want to hear your turbo. Add a cone filter to the end of your MAF. Simple as that.

 

i put a HD turbo boost control valve on it last winter...if i do put a cold air intake on i would like to make it nice and actually functional it just seems like a pain i haven't been able to find a cold air intake kit for the S60...plenty for the R model

You wont gain much power from the SRI "Short Ram Intake" (IPD USA, EuroSportTuning (EST)) intake setups, but you will gain sound.
