Default S60R with funny acting headlight wiper

So my 2004 S60 has a lazy headlight wiper. I find it in different positions all the time. Pretty much in the non-rest position. I can tell it changes positions after I've had the wipers on. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before and has any pointers on what I should check.

Not sure if it's the same or not but in the older 850's when a part inside the wiper motor would go bad the wiper would not park properly, so my guess is that the motor is bad.

If you are feeling ambitious, you could remove the bumper then unbolt the motor housing, carefully open it and see whats going on with the park/reversing switch.

Its not that complicated inside, i had a similar issue after swapping internal motors, I simply reset the gearing with the gear markers, snapped it back together and problem solved.

Although it helps to have a picture of what a new one looks like inside.

Well last time I used the wipers the one parked properly. Whenever I get time again I'll take it apart and look at it.

See is you can gently move the wiper arm with the car off. If it moves pay attention to the nut that hold the wiper arm on. If that nut stays it position then there is slippage in the gear of your wiper arm its self.
