Default Serious cruise control issue

Ok, sooooo

I am new to volvo. I have a 2007 s-60 2.5t auto awd. travelling from colorado to missouri over the weekend while using the cruse set at 75 the car started to slow and downshifted through every gear until i came to a stop at which time the engine cut off. This happened 2x within like an hour. No warning lights NOTHING. On the way back to Colorado the cruse started to accelerate to like 110 from 75 before i turned off the cruise by the button on the steering wheel and put the car in neutral and the engine just raced to redline until i shut off the ignition...(i didnt shut it off all the way just turned it back to where the lights and all were still on) restarted and went right to redline. shut it off again and took out the key. restarted and ran fine the rest of the way home withOUT curise????

ANY IDEAS. ITS GOING TO VOLVO TODAY BUT I AM LOOKING FOR HELP ON THIS ONE

Sounds like an ECU problem. As far as i know these cars are fly by wire so there is no throtle cable to stick. Get it looked at A.S.A.P.
