Default Shifter gear selector plate - if needed where can I buy

I have my car at the shop and I always worry about having someone else do work.

The geartronic rocker needed to be replaced, I bought a kit and since I hate interior work I took it to a mechanic. I trust the shop.

They just called me and said that the gear selector plate doesn't want to come out and there is always the possibility that the plastic on a 2002 model car could break. Do you want us to proceed?

Well the work must be done and I do understand the risk....go ahead.

So if I need to replace the part where is a good place to find a used one. I don't even want to know how much Volvo charges for a new one. I'm not 100% sure of the correct name of the part.

Thanks. From your picture, if the mechanic follows the directions, there should be no breakage. That is as long as he isn't crazy with his bone tool.

$211 isn't as bad as I expected but it would be unfortunate that a $12 rocker repair part ends up costing over $350 (labor to replace rocker and new part).

I think I would need the charcoal part 30622499 but I have not heard back from the mechanic about the outcome. HM? Actually I think My trim is grey not charcoal?

Thanks for the response

Luck was with me today and nothing broke. I should have bought a new boot before they did the job. Normally I would have done such a thing but I forgot.

The only extra that was needed was a shift-inter lock lock.
