So confused on these mouldings
So i own a 2002 Volvo s60 AWD. It's silver with this ugly grey plastic trim/moulding that runs along the side, under the headlights and under the tail lights. I'm sure you guys know what i'm talking about. Anyways, i want to get them painted to match the color of my car which is, by the way, factory paint. However, i was wondering if i could just pop them off and bring them in to get painted, or if i have to buy non-plastic mouldings and get those painted. If i have to buy new ones, does anyone know where i could buy them from? Thanks you for your time!

They can be painted. The best way to go about is to find a local panel beating or auto spray painting shop, go in there with the parts you want painted, your year, model, make and paint code written down on a pieces of paper, and if you can pull a small piece of trim off, like a fuel filler door, so they fine tune the colour match, you will be golden.
Make it easy for them and they'll do the job for a good price.

Or you could find a 2005 or newer silver S60 in a junk yard and take the molding off of it and put it on your car. 2005 is when they started painting it the same color as the car.
Or you could restore the molding to it's original color. I have a thread on how to do this in the 850 forum in the Helpful Hints DIY thread which is a sticky there.
