Spark plugs/wires
Has anyone out there replaced their spark plugs/wires recently? What brand should I get? I see all these plugs that claim they have "more spark" then the other, does anyone know if these actually make a difference, '04 2.5t.... Thanks Guys! D ps... just got my OEM 18" anthracite Pegasus' in the mail, pictures up soon.... if I can figure out how to put pics up... peace out....

RE: Spark plugs/wires
FWIK, I think NGKs are a factory replacement plug and are available from Advance Auto and several other local parts stores. I tried a set of Pulstar plugs on my Mazda6 and found they were not reliable and started throwing CELs after about 2K miles. One plug (In Cyl. 3 with P0303 CEL code) was actually split at the insulator when I removed it to re-check the gap.[:-]
The 06 models are coil-on-plug so there are no plug wires involved. I'm not sure if the 04s have COP ignition or coil-pack+wires???

RE: Spark plugs/wires
I've never seen anything giving a replacement interval on the wires, so unless you're having an ignition issue, I'd keep em. As for the plugs, I used NGK IX (the iridium ones) and gained 2mpg hwy according to the on-board computer. 99% of my drive is desert highway (70mph with no braking) so I don't know how much orif it would help in the city.
