Default Stereo Trouble

I have a 2012 S60. Sometimes the left side of the radio/stereo is dead. Most of the time both sides work fine. My personal mechanic who repairs both Volvos and Saabs said he thought it was a software problem that could be addressed at a Volvo dealership. Has anyone else had this problem? Was it indeed software related?
Thanks so much,
Gary

You have an intermittant connection issue. Not sure how that could assumed to be software. The issue could be internal to the head unit, the connection between the head unit to the power amp, internal to the power amp or wiring/ground points to the speakers. When the sound drops out what happens if you switch the balance to that side and turn up the volume? do you hear any faint sounds, crackling etc?

Thanks for your help. I have seen the on screen balance control but can't figure out how to find it again. I'm wondering if the wiring under the passenger seat is the culprit. One of my riders pushes his things under the seat and perhaps has broken a wire. Are these audio wires under the passenger seat?
Thanks,
Gary Gordon

do you see a box attached to it that you can grab a part number off of? It could be the amp, or possibly the bluetooth unit - so its quite possible the connectors got pulled out.

Yes, I'm thinking the connections got bumped and moved many times. Now that I see what's under there I'll discourage anyone from shoving things under the seat.
Thanks, Gary
