Getting rid of my BMW 328i. I am down to two choices. The Subaru Legacy Touring XT which has a Turbo 260 HP vs. the Volvo S60 Momentum or R. Design, turbo 250 HP. I have not been able to find a dealer with the XT on the lot so not sure exactly how they drive, but I want the upgraded features and the engine with more Horsepower, comfortable seats, basic luxury.

I liked my test drive in the Volvo but it is front wheel drive, so I think at quick acceleration it oversteered for a second, something that doesn't happen to a BMW. Subarus are all four wheel wheel drive and the top of the line Subaru comes with Napa leather and has all of the safety equipment the Volvo has.

Volvo is among the worst cars when it comes to retaining its value, something like losing 80% in three years and worth only 8% at five years, whereas the Subaru is at the top of the list, holds its value. And the Subaru Touring XT is about 7 K cheaper than the Volvo.

And Subaru supposedly is above average reliability while the Volvo is below average reliability.

But I like the look of Volvo, like the quirky Brand Name appeal, and most important liked the test drive.

Any opinions from those who have owned or driven Volvos vs. the Subaru XT?
