Default Swapping of parts....

My son has an s70 t5 manual. He spun a barring in the motor. So, we found a 2001 s60 2.4t that had a bad transmission.

We ALSO haveba 2001 s60 t5 manual with a bad rack... (and huge dent).

his end goal is to have two cars...
1. S70 with TONS of up grades...

2. Sometimes he can DRIVE on bad days and when upgrading...

motor is pulled from s70..
What is the best idea...

1. Pull the manual transmission off the s70 and replace it in the car that has the bad AT transmission. Then pull the t5 and transmission from s60 t5 manual and put it back in and scrap the s60 t5 with no parts keeping the s60 2.4t with them manual swap.

Or pull the s60 2.4t and putting in the s70, waiting on a full rebuild of the original 2.3... and re swapping the 2.3 at a later date. scrapping the 2.4 shell. And tring to pull the rack...

if you swap motors between chassis, are you planning to also swap wiring harnesses and ECUs? If not, you may want to compare to make sure the two to understand what's different between the 2.3T (typically these are the T5s with high pressure turbos) and the 2.4T (some of these are low pressure turbos with a different ECU tune).
