Default Time to say Goodbye

Is it time to part ways with my 02 Volvo s60? I have a misfire in cylinder 4 and losing antifreeze, which may indicate blown or bad head gasket. I have a non-working instrument cluster, chirping blower motor, driver side heated seat inoperable, crack in upper motor mount. Have been replacing parts for past 6mos. such as drive belt and tensioner, lower motor mount, host of headlights, spark plugs, cabin filter, windshield wipers Etc. The list goes on and on and I feel like the fixing will never end therefore I cannot fully enjoy my ride. Every month it is something SMH..SO forum what do u think???

Let it go and if you like the S60 get a 03 or newer.

The 2001 and 2002 MY, were the early years an these babies have a weak tranny and poor reliability score and if the car had poor maintenance by the previous owner, you end up with a nightmare.

you don't have to leave volvo if you like the S60.

A 2003+ S60 T5 with good maintenance records would be a good choice

Before you buy any Audi, check those forums, too. They're not exactly VW Beetles, you know, regarding maintenance and repair costs and frequency. I've been told, for example, they they eat bushings even faster than Volvos do.

Thanks so much Forum. I am going to have a compression test done tomorrow to be absolutely certain about the head gasket. If that is the problem I dont want to get it fixed. Too afraid of the estimate I would get. A friend of mine said it may be cheaper to buy a new motor instead. Would an 03 motor and 03 tranny work? Thx for the heads-up about Audi!!

No, you lose again my friend. Only '01 and '02 motor/tranny are options for your '02, so you are back to the high failure rate of '01 and '02

So back to the '03 S60 T5 FWD
