Default timing belt replacement costs

How much $$$ should I expect to have a repair shop replace the timing belt?
I have a 2008 S60 2.5T 111k miles.

I had my local dealer quoted me $900 parts and labor. Thats for belt, pully and tensior. The tensior and or pulley is where most failures come from not the belt in most cases. Make sure that you do the entire Kit. I also replaced the Water pump at the same time because it runs off the same belt and for the added $50 for the part it was worth the piece of mind that im not going to have to pay for this twice.

Anybody find lower cost at a non-dealer repair shop?

My dealer quoted $850 without the water pump.
One independent repair shop quoted $850 with the water pump.
Another independent repair shop quoted $500 without the water pump.

Thoughts?

my 2006 S60 was done at the dealer last spring for about $700. They said water pump replacement would add around $300 to the cost and it wasnt recommended until the second timing belt change at around 200K miles.

Your timing belt was due at 10 years (ie in 2018)... are you the original owner - or is it possible a prior owner had the belt replaced on schedule? If not you're about 3 years past due.
