Question trans issues? works perfect always, sliped and quarky one ride...

I bought a 2001 s60 2.4T with 5 speed auto trans. the engine and trans have been perfect for about two weeks. shifts very smooth through all gears and and high rpms, quick and smooth shifts.
One day, everything was perfect, then stopped at a store and got back in the car and started up and drove away... the transmission slipped out of gears easily. If i gave it anymore than very little throttle it would slip out of gear and rev up, then it would cluck into gear. If i drove it super easy, it would shift through gears, however when giving any reasonable throttle it would slip and rev. up....
I babied it and it shifted fine on the way home with and few hard downshifts... I parked the car in horror and took to the forum. To my dismay I read horror stories and read about the 01 being a bad trans and also the p4 value or sensors, or things....
the next day, scared to drive it or do anything.. i drove it anyways, to my surprise, the car ran perfect, smooth shifts, no hard down shifts, no flares, nothing...
now confident that i thought it was a sensor or some oddity. I drove the car fairly hard, high rpm shifts and punching the throttle in different positions at various speeds and the car and trans is perfect.....
I now assume and since I read a little, I think its is a sensor or something...
Gurus or forum regulars can you tell me what the problem is and the best place to buy the part/s?
Thanks in advance!
New to Volvo, but hope to become a regular.

Default bump, wheres the forum help?

170 views with no responses... is this too common of a question or is this forums not that active?
After further research and looking at my trans oil i notice that the trans fluid level is about 1.5 to 2 quarts overfilled..... would this cause the problem to be better or worse???
How can I drain the extra fluid? will this help or hurt? also how can i tell if its the volvo fluid it needs or if they used standard trans fluid? if so,... should i do a full drain and replace with volvo fluids? if so wheres the best place to buy volvo trans fluid online, or locally if possible?(no dealer near-by)
Also is there a recommended forums that is more active or willing help with my questions?

fluid is a special auto fluid - made by mobil but also used in some of the auto boxes used in toyota soarer (pre 2000) - ask for type iV auto fluid at the local toyota shop. drainage is from under the car. there is a large nut - do a search on replacing s60 trans fluid- - IPD also have an info sheet on refillling trans - info and pictures will be useful - under no circumstance undo any nut on the topside of the trans.

first the fluid is mobiL 3309 or Toyota T-iv these are the same as Volvo 3309 but 1/2 the cost. To do the drain fill you use the lower inlet of the trans line at the radiator driver side. Mark some thing at 2 quarts.Put a clear hose in outlet start the car let 2 qts. flow out shut off the car Add 2 quarts back in threw trany dip stick.Do the 6 times 12 qts. This is full flush. When that is done Buy from IPD the B4 SERVO cover and install. Then trip to the dealer and have the software update doNE. If you do all this $350 or so it is your best shot to keep from having to replace the trany.Do this before any damage is done . Once the damage happens all the fluid and prayers in the world will not help..

I would buy a spare clip that holds the line in the radiator before you start. They are the green ones and they tend to get brittle and crack when you remove the line. I have a 2001 S60 with 130,000 miles and never had any transmission problems. I mainly attribute this to the software upgrade when it was a couple of months old and changing the fluid at 50k mile intervals.
