Post Transmission Flush in 2001 S60 T5 (116K miles)

Do you recommend a transmission flush when the fluid is black? There seems to be a difference of opinion, so guidance is appreciated.

In addition, if the fluid hasn't been replaced in 90K miles do you recommend a complete flush?

Thank you!

I have the same model, same year. I spoke to Volvo dealership service dept just a few days ago about fully flushing the transmission fluid & top-up and the guy told me that the transmission fluid should never be flushed.

I actually wasn't still been able to check the fluid colour (b'cos I actually can't find the dipstick - so any pointers on where to find it would be appreciated), but the reason I wanted a flush was because I bought this car 6 months ago and know for a fact that the previous owner took poor care of the liquids.

replace your atf asap to avoid tranny failure either by drain and fill or flushing. Dipstick is on top of tranny. Look for a yellow round plastic plugged on top of tranny. Move aside the wires aside to see the dipstick.
