Default Trunk Compartment

Hi,

What is that little door for in the floor of the trunk? It's like a lid that opens, and an elastic strap is there. I don't know what I could put in there because it's so shallow.

This is a little lid built into the lid you lift for the spare tire. It's about 3ft x 1 1/2 ft. It real shallow, about the thickness of a couple magazines.

The floor of this compartment has an elastic strap, as well as the lid.

If I recall, that lid is to keep groceries and similar items upright. You would lift the lid and set your bags between it and the trunk opening. It stops things from rolling and sliding to the front of the trunk. Pretty neat idea.

Good thinking. That must be what the elastic straps are there for. I wish I would have read this earlier because I had groceries in the car tonight!

Thanks.
