Hello friends i noticed for that last couple weeks when i give my 01 s60 T alot of throttle my power seems to pulsate like every other second. Seems like the turbo kicks on and off?? Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

 

every once in a while... like about every 2 tanks of gas i will have a few moments through second gear where mine doest what you are talking about.. i think its form crappy gas my opinion.. cuz if i get 93 octane from sunoco or Thorntons it doesnt do it but anywhere else it will cut out every once in a while..

 

i think i no wat u mean, i drive a s60 2001 2.4t and when i floor it, sadly yes i do. it cuts in and out from 5k-7k

 

yep thats exactly the RPM range when mine cuts out.. but only intermitently.. its not like it does it every time.. and if i drive it hard for a longer period of time it quits doing it for a while...

 

Does the check engine light flash when it is cutting out?

 

No the check engine light doesnt come on at all. I just feel the power loss, then boost, then loss ect.

 

It might be misfiring.

 

Might be time to replace your turbo control valve, fuel pressure sensor might be at fault but would typically throw codes.

 

Yeah, I was thinking it might be the TCV. I will try to get one ordered and see if that fixes the problem. I dont haveany codes or "messages" showing up so... Thanks for the help!

 

Is there a way to test the Turbo control valve and is the "boost control valve"the same thing? Do you know a good place to order one is?

 

i have the same issue with my 07 s60 except my rpm still goes up but i hear it coming from the timing belt area?
