I just bought a Volvo S60, and I want to get some nice rims. But I have heard that unoriginal are not as good/safe on the Volvo S60, as originals. Is this true? Should I pay extra for the original ones, or are unoriginal rims just as good?

 

Some aftermarket rims are fine some are junk.
Make sure if you buy aftermarket rims you get the ecentric ring for the center of the rim.

 

Yeah it all depends on what you buy. If you buy cheap your most likely going to get a cheap product.

If you buy exspensive expect to get good quality if it is a good company.

Example: BBS RGR's. Cost a lot of money and are great quality.

Check those two sites out, they have some decent rims available. Also some nice OEM rims to look into are the Pegasus rims 17-18" and the Tritons which are actually made by BBS for Volvo. Cassiopeia's are nice as well. Also Nebula's are nice OEM rims.

Aftermarket Brands:
Look into BBS , O.Z. , Borbet , Sport Edition. These are just a few brands to look into.

The mating surfaces are nearly perfect which reduces lug flex, metal fatigue and other factors that could causeoff brand or after market wheels to fail under "spirited" driving conditions.

If you must 'pimp your ride', do so with caution and choose a wheel that will perform by the numbers as well as provide great style.
