Default V60 2019 d4

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying a Volvo V60 2019 AWD D4 (190 HP) with around 220,000 km, and I’d appreciate some advice from owners or people familiar with this model.



I’m particularly interested in:


  • Common issues with the D4 190 HP diesel engine at high mileage
  • Known problems with the AWD system
  • Automatic transmission reliability (8-speed) — any issues with shifting, servicing, or longevity
  • Oil consumption — is it common on this engine?
  • Turbo, injectors, EGR, DPF — how reliable are they long-term?
  • Any electrical or software issues typical for this model year
  • What should I specifically check before buying a high-mileage example like this?




The car seems well maintained, but with this mileage I want to understand the real-world reliability and potential expensive repairs to expect.



Any experiences, advice, or things to look out for would be very helpful.

I just signed the purchase of my Volvo V60 Inscription plug-in hybrid T8 with 390 hp, and it was the car of my dreams. I'm so impatient to try it out that I can't even stand myself.

hi, i have one with about 160k,

Is usually pretty reliable, parts are not cheap, but the rhing you have to look for the most is the automatic gear, usually they are not well maintained, also the intake corcuit complete, egr, valves and sensors, maybe doing a clean for the air intake part of the system, use the proper oil, around 10k oil and filters change. It uses a pretty thin and expensive oil, and gets dirty fast as of any diesel engine. If it does not have any weird sound, it should be fine, mine is a 2.5L 5 cylinders, just found out how dirty the intake is, get one of those small scanner tools for the cellphone, usually under any issue goes to crawl mode, wich turns off the turbo, then you get no power at all... if its nothing serius usually clearing the codes will get you to destination then to a mechanic... hope it helps.
