V60 Can anyone tell me if LHD and RHD steering racks are compatible with each others cars.
I have a grinding noise from mine and this would be the 2nd time it has failed. (last time it was the bolts on the electric motor shearing)

 

Hey all, I've had my 2011 V60 1.6D Drive R-Design for ~1.5 years, it is achieved 49k and has full foremost provider records. I've registered on right here so different members can comply with an problem I'm having at gift (as identify). When leaving work on Friday, the auto commenced excellent, however I did get hold of a "Power Steering Service Required" message on my dash . I drove the automobile domestic as normal and there has been no distinguishable difference in steering weighting, noise and many others. (like the difficulty wasn't there!) Started up exceptional this morning (not used all weekend), went to pull off from outdoor the house and nearly went directly into the back of the wifes car ... No power guidance in any way!! Quick fuse and fluid test - all good enough. Struggling to understand how it is able to pass from running perfectly to not running at the push of a button. If some thing become about to fail, I suspect that I might see/experience/hear some kind of inform tale sign, other than the dash message (these can appear with battery problems from studying discussion board). On a side be aware, I've also had the begin/stop go on me lately, so new battery/alternator can be required. Not certain whether or now not this could have any effect on the electric-hydraulic power guidance. I have Volvo Assist coming out to take a look later, so will update the thread as/after I get more info.
