V60 smoking
My 2016 V60 is smoking badly from exhaust when warm and uses a lot of oil which I think is being continually burn off it has a ford D3 diesel engine and I have just changed the injector seals on advice from local garage but still smoking ???

if its smoking and consuming oil, that suggests a piston ring problem. If a diesel just smokes then its running rich. How far do you go before needing to add a quart of motor oil?
|
Hi probably about 200 mile and can not read oil level on dash as the light is dark if you know what I mean

It could be worn-out piston rings or valve stem seals that are letting oil get into the engine, leading to smoke.
Plus, the turbocharger or the turbo oil seals could also be culprits. A malfunctioning turbo can cause both smoke from the exhaust and oil consumption. |
