Exclamation Volvo quick to suggest new AOC module & Pump?

So with the drop in temperature, my car has been going crazy. I got a 'trans. service required' light soon after changing my battery, which later went out after leaving the car sitting for a while. Now my AWD went out and i have an engine light,so to Volvo it was for a diagnosis. Car: 2005 Volvo S60 2.5t AWD

LIST DTC

Came back reading codes CEM-1A64 Communication with AOC control module signal missing and ECM-5130 Communication, transmission control module (TCM) - faulty signal.
Now their first order of business, was to replace the entire AOC module ($2645.00+tax) and pump ($440.00+tax), F*** that!

Now my question is, is that really necessary? and is there anything else i can proceed with before risking ~4500 all in?
I can't find much info on code ecm5130 on its own, the trans seems to shift fine, would a trans. flush help at all or is the module 100% the issue?
As with the CEM code, is there any way i can tell if its just the pump? any advice on this would be great, its just strange to me the temp drop caused all this, maybe strictly electrical issue with freezing water? I also cant find any other people that have JUST these two specific codes, are the two related? Volvo honestly wasn't much help.
