I switched over to synthetic in my old Ford Probe GT when the engine was at ~60k. The next day my crank seal started leaking profusely. I simply got a new crank seal, and replaced it. Problem solved, but I dont think it was a coincidence. I've heard of similar occurances when switching over. Just be prepared for things like this.
