1998 S70 non turbo mystery part

Ok. So I opened the hood to check stuff and laying loose on the front bottom left of the battery lay this thing.
Any ideas?

No mystery - that clamps the battery in place. Some had a string attached so it would not go far.

Mystery part

That was my first guess. So I tried to wiggle the battery and it was secure. I’ll try to figure out how to reinstall. Thanks!
