Default 2000 S70 w 85K miles for $9K...good buy?

The car has an idle issue...sitting in the lot if I pop the RPMs up to 3-4K then let off it stutters abit dropping momentarily to 250 RPM then back up to 1K. The a/c also sounds a bit odd to me...kind of a slight high pitched pulsating hum when it is on.

The car is at a Volvo dealer and assumin gthey can fix these issues shoul di buy this car? What else should I look for. ON the S80 forums the big issues seem to be TBB and tranny, is teh S70 the same.

THANKS!!!!

Definitely take it to an independent Volvo mechanic for an inspection before you buy. He'll give you an honest opinion as to what would need to be fixed and how much.

Way too high but probably normal for the Dealership. I went thru Craigslist,
seems much cheaper because people want to make a quick sell and are
willing to bargain. Autotrader is a good source. I see you are in Charlotte,
if you are not familiar with Volvo's take it to MPG Import Auto Service Center
located on 4624 Monroe Road. Mike and Patrick Castrillon are the owners and
will give you a fair evaluation.

Good-luck!

That is true the 98 GLT does have the Low Pressure Turbo which puts out 198 HP whereas the High Pressure Turbo model has 222 HP. That white 98 GLT looks like a good buy to me.

Thanks Samadkins29 I stand corrected.

I agree with Jim on the white 98 S70, that would be very tempting.
