'98 front brakes smoking after replacement?
My father and I replaced the front pads and rotors on his S70 2 weeks ago with OEM Volvo stuff. Yesterday when pulling up to a light he noticed that the brakes were smoking after normalaround town driving.
We pulled the wheels back off and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary except that both front wheels were very hot to the touch.
We have literally done 100 of brake jobs between us (the first on this Volvo)
Its really odd that they would do this. We did notice that the clearance of the rotor on one side against the caliper mount was extremely close and wasn't wit the old rotor (also OEM Volvo) could tolerances be off and this is hitting it?
Didn't see any wear on the rotor edge or discoloring on rotor like its getting too hot??
Any ideas?
thanks
