98 S70 Intake air temp sensor failed?
There is a sensor in the intake box that controls the warm/cold air flap.
The sensor has 2 vacuum lines attached to it, one going to the vacuum tree and the other connecting to the Hot/cold flap diaphragm. My problem is that the "sensor" allows the vacuum through at all times. The line from the tree is essentially sucking in vacuum from the intake box all the time. Isn't there something wrong here? I thought the vacuum was only supposed to be applied to the diaphragm, not let into the system through the box.

The hole visible in the center of the copper piece lets air through into the vacuum line that goes to the tree. This creates a large amount of un-metered air into the system.
The piece looks nothing like the one for sale online. Do I have the wrong part?

These are the two vacuum connections on the outside of the air box.
One goes to the tree, the other to the flap on the bottom of the box.
