1998 Vovo S70. 140,000
The ABS light has been coming on and off for the last 2 weeks. I recently did a slow stop at a Stop sign and there was a "buzzing" sound coming from the braking system. Don't know a better way to describe the sound. Could feel the ABS grabbing intermittently. Only time this has happened. ABS light still on. Thoughts??? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

 

Sounds like your ABS control module may malfunctioning. It's a pretty common problem.

You'll need to have it rebuilt (or buy a rebuilt one). Replacing mine ran me about $125. You'll need to take the module out, which can be a bit trying (at least mine was), then send it off to be rebuilt. While the module is out you won't have a working speedometer, cruise control, or ABS. But once you get the rebuilt module in you should be as good as new.

No problem. Here's the guy I used. I was 100% satisfied. Sent it off and got it back quickly, and the rebuilt modules are way more robust than the stock ones. What he basically does is rebuild yours and ship it back to you.
