ABS and STC triangle intermittent
My 1999 S70 T5 has 220,000 miles on it and still going strong, except for an ABS / STC light issue. These lights are now coming on more frequently and affecting the shifting - the S70 is a manual. I have read a lot about the likely cause being a bad ABS module and the savings from sending the ABS unit off to get repaired as opposed to putting in a new unit. I am looking for ideas and suggestions from folks that have seen this same issue. Thanks!
Ben, thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that. But I think I will try Vic Rocha first. I will be removing the ABS module from my car as soon as I can get my hands on a Torx E5 socket... It is enroute.
FLS ,
I am glad you are fixing it now. I too had the same problem for over one year and basically ignored it until one day a colleague told me my car was smoking in the parking lot.
Yup, it was the ABS, I disconnected the battery and cut all the wires from the melted connector. So I had to replace the module AND the re-soder all the wires. I used a precise ohm-meter to check the Ohms reading of each connection.
So my advise, don't procrastinate with this part.
