Default Air Conditioning works for 15 minutes

My air conditioning works for 15 minutes and then blows hot air on my 98 s70 glt. I turn it off then back on and it will begin to blow cool air for another 15 minutes. I was wondering if anyone has come upon the issue and how to fix it.

I will bet the clutch needs to be reshimmed.

As Tech said: Need to reshim the A/C compressor clutch. Look it up in this forum for the procedures. Your description sounds like that common problem.

Here's my $0.02, and hopefully it's worth more than a grand! I "reshimmed" my AC clutch with english muffin/bagel bag clips and super glue. Only tools needed: flathead screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, and rubber gloves. Here's what it looks like!

I have to "re-shim" it once every six months. Cold as ICE!

How many of those clips did you use? How did you use the tools to put them in? Thanks in advance.

It takes 3. You have to create a little space in there with a screwdriver. It's a lot better to make a real adjustment, but the compressor is pretty painful to remove, and you can't get the clutch off with it installed.
