battery drained
my kids forgot to closed the door properly for about 3 days, so I guess the red lights on the door was on for about 3 days (the interior light is on off position), is it possible this can cause my battery to be completely drained? I tried to start the car, it won't even turn, the information display on the dashboard went blank and after I take the keys, the info display turn on fully ( 8888, etc, everything shows their full digital track) after about 30 second, it goes normal and the digital clock goes to 00:00
is this normal? or there is another problem with the car? is there anyway I can check the current that the car (ecu) needs from the battery when the car is off
PS: the battery is 1 month old, the car is 98 S 70 2.5 L
Thank you for your help

could you tell me how to check the Amps?..I'm afraid if I do the wrong way, I will screw up the whole car electricity
thanks a lot Tech
You meet to get a meter that measures Amps. Set it on the Amp setting. Then disconnect the Negative terminal. Put one lead on the Battery and the other on the terminal.
Then see what the reading is.
Here is a pic of how I do it. If you can do it like the pic that would be great. I do it like this so there isn't much of a spike in amps when hooking the meter inline.
I stick the one probe on the battery terminal and clip the other to the terminal and slide the terminal up onto the other and let it sit.

It is possible you just simply drained the battery especially having the interior lights on for 3 days. Batteries are not at their best during cold weather. Have the battery charged or buy a battery charger. I recommend having a battery charger a homehandy for accidents like this.
