Clutch Paranoia
Hi Everyone,
I am so glad to have found this site.
My very trusted mechanic has assured me I am MENTAL---but here is my question:
1999 V70--186,000 miles (yes, I know that is a ton of miles) still has the same clutch.
I do a great deal of state-wide commute--driving from SF BAY area to LA, and I am fearful of losing my clutch someplace unsavory, like HWY 5.
The car has had every service--by the book, and my mechanic starts every call to me with "we tested the clutch...and it is fine"...
HELP and thanks!

It would start slipping before it just went out on you.
I have seen many cars with over 150,000 miles and still factory clutch.
I replaced the one in my Mustang at 162,000 and only because the throw out bearing went bad.
I was halfway there and replaced it anyways.
