I have a 98 S70. Half the lights (LED's) on the stereo are working (right side) and the left side are not. The 2 heated seat switches (heated seats do work) dont illuminate and the auto shifter indicators also don't work, but the ECONO, SPORT and WINTER trans switches are illuminated. Any others have this problem before?
I checked all fuses and none are blown. All switches work too. Just not lit up!

The bulbs are burned out.

It is pretty common.

 

I pulled apart the shifter console. Both the gear shifter and 12V plug lights were burnt. The connectors to the heated seat buttons were dirty. Cleaned them and all the lights work now. Just have to deal with the stereo lights now.

Same problem - stereo faceplace does not illuminate on my V70. I think too that the small illumination bulbs in the stereo are burnt out. Have you replaced 'em? Know any place where I can buy these bulbs?

Found the bulbs at this site: http://autolumination.com/74.htm. The bulbs are neo-wedge instrument panel bulbs that sit on an electronic board behind the stereo faceplate and make contact with the electronic circuitry. They are $1.49 each.
