Default Drive shaft replacement

S70 1999AWD Turbo
I need a drive shaft and detailed Instruction on how to remove and replace. Is this a job I can do in my garage with jack stands or is this a heavier job that needs lifts. what else has to be removed to get the shaft out.

The shaft was inspected by a Volvo dealer. I was told the bearing was going and it posed a danger to let my son continue to drive the car. They want 1300.00 for the shaft (new). Is there a rebuilt source in Illinois.

Rebuilt ones are usually junk.

New ones usually don't last all that long either. It is a pretty poor design.

There is allen head screws holding the front and rear of the driveshaft to the transfer case and rear end.

There is also a couple of 12 MM(Well maybe 4 of them) screws holding the center bearing up to the body.
