Engine managment model
I have a '99Volvo S70 GLT(Belgian built), with a B5254S (2.435liter) 20v gas. engine anda/t trans and 140000 Km (87000miles), The EM is Motronic4.4 (according to the manual). the connector (in the arm rest) has OBDII on the cover
1.How can I find out if this is the eng. management model? 2. How many RPM should it show at idle hot/cold (it is now about 900)? 3. Can anyone recommend a code reader that will show what the code is and erase (without batt. discon.) The check engine came on about 3 weeks ago and I borrowed a code reader and as far as I could tell it showed a timing error, the car sounds/runs ok I disconnected the batt. but after about 3 days the Check eng light came on again, yesterday it went off by itself (maybe the computer is so smart it fixed itself !!!). RE: Engine managment model
The 99 car should be a ME7 system not the 4.4 system.

RE: Engine managment model
Does your car have a throttle cable?
Does it have a full electronic setup? |
RE: Engine managment model
I can't find anything that looks like a cable throttle, there is a light on the dash marked ETS, so I guess it has an elect. throttle

RE: Engine managment model
If you have the ETS light then you should have the ME 7.0 system.
