ETM - how "open" should the little door be? And yellow marking?
Hi all, there's a plethora of ETM threads around but haven't found my answer. Maybe it's just plain dumb!
2000 S70 - a week after purchase began to choke, sputter and show the ETS light. I haven't driven it in 2 weeks and now no light or symptoms, but I still went ahead and did the clean.
It was simple to remove and pretty much clean as a whistle. Which does worry me that it will have to be replaces once symptoms return.
I've never worked with an ETM before...the little circular door/flap inside isn't flush or fully flat/closed. It is open just a bit, maybe a centimeter or two. Is this how it should be?
Beyond that, I noticed a very small yellow tick (like form a paint pen or marker) on the plastic part of the ETM. Even though I've read that the swapped ETMs involved in the huge recall had a yellow "sticker". Could this still be an indication that it was indeed replaced?
