Default Factory amp question

I have a 98 S70 T5 and I know this sounds stupid but I have no idea where my factory amp is.

Thanks in advance for not flaming me!

If you have one it will be behind the dash like under the radio when the radio is removed.
You will have to pull the carpet back by the gas pedal then remove the plastic cover under the carpet to see it.

Thanks tech. I do have one because I put in a new head unit (factory head unit was not very good imo) and my amp cable was too big for the new unit.

And thank you for not adressing the curtness of my post for I was in a rush when writing it. I did an extensive search on the web and a fairly general one on the car and could find nothing.

More than likely if I post a question it will be for something obscure like this one because the members here have hit on most subjects and you-tech-have been very knowledgable and friendly in reply. It's very nice to know that someone is out there for us DIY guys.

Vadis tells me its under the passenger seat??
see if its there, might be easier than pulling the dash apart.

Yeah I check the owners manual (always a let down) and it told me it might be there. It wasn't. Maybe that is a V70 thing. I'ma do what tech said soon and I'll post back.

Well I feel stupid cause I guess I never had one. The space was empty and upon further inspection the cable I thought was for the amp was a cd cable. I suppose my loss of bass was due to my factory HU having more wattage? Also there was a cable I didn't have a jack for on the new HU that looks like a mini antenna cable that hooked next to the antenna. Any idea what that is for? (antenna still functions fyi)

Could be why you lost some Bass.

The wattage might be different.

I forget exactly what the Little wire is for. I will have to see if I can find out any info on it.
