Exclamation Fuse #29 keeps blowing! Pls. help

Hi All,

Im new to this forum and im new to my"new" manual Volvo S70 T5 1998. I tried the search function and was not able to find anything on this...To keep it short... Fuse #29 (Rear demist, Power Mirrors, Bulb Failure sensor, Shift lock, Cruise control. Seat belt reminder, siren) keeps blowing when i change it. (10AMP).
Im not sure where to start to look for problems. I was told it could be some old damaged wire.
Is there a way to test and find which one of the listed items may be bad?

For those who wonder.. i got the car from my mom for free it has about 277750 miles and runs really well, except those few issues im trying to solve. (bad fuse#29, upper engine mounts, O2 sensor, ECT sensor, thermostat, ABS-TRACS, etc) but the fuse issue is a head scratcher... any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you all for spending the time reading this.

Vinny

I have an older factory wiring diagram from a 95 Volvo 850. They are basically the same car except in the 850 wiring diagram fuse 28 not 29 controls what you are having issues with. It is 2.6MB so I cannot attach it but if you are interested let me know and I can e-mail it to you. OTherwise I would ask your mom if she had issues with any of the systems before you got the car. Outside of that, the only advice I have it to look for obvious shorts to ground, bad/pinched wiring, or unplug each item (defogger, cruise control, etc).....one at a time to see which one is causing the fuse to blow.

I think you just have to unplug everything in that circuit the best you can and inspect. No easy way. You do need a wiring diagram. I have one, and so it must have come from volvowiringdiagrams.com, but I don't find it there now.

The volvo wiring diagrams are hard to read.

volvowiringdiagrams.com is defunct :-( but there are other sources - I like Volvotips.com for the 850 (including the wiring diagram)
