Default Glt + t5 ecu=:)

So... As I'd talked about a while ago, when the turbo in my '98 S70 GLT went bad a couple months ago, I put a used 16T from a T5 on it, since that was the only thing I could get in a hurry. Well, today, I put in the ECU from that same T5, and... wow. Floor it at 35 MPH, and it spins the tires. 60 MPH happens in no time. It really woke the car up.

My only worry is that it will overtax the engine. I know that the various tunes for the GLT let it hit 12-15 PSI, which is what it's doing now, but I don't know what differences there are in fuel maps and the like. I suppose I'll just drive the car normally, and only use the new power on occasion. Any comments?

Might have woke the car up but your car isn't meant to handle that ECU fully. To gain full access you should get an ECU upgrade from IPD USA, RICA or any of the other various lower end tuners on the market. I know you'd be a lot happier. Probably not with what you'd end up paying, but in the total power output of the vehicle.

Think you said it all already... you put a turbo and ECU that was designed for a 8.5:1 compression ratio engine on one that has 9.0:1 (according to here) so yeah, that will wake it up a bit..! Like you said, as long as you use it sparingly you should be OK. But speed and pwr are addictive..
