Default hard shifting!

during normal driving, my s70 is great, but when i go WOT, it kicks down hard! and shifts hard, is this normal? i plan on changing the tranny fluid this weekend because i just got the car, and i dont know if it has ever been changed..and...it has too much fluid in it, according to the tranny dip stick..

That's probably your problem. These cars need just the right amount of fluid, not too much and not too little. I used the drain and refill method when I do mine. Jack it up with the wheels off the ground, drain what you can out, refill with the same amount you took out (in your case a little less since it is overfilled), start it up and run through all the gears for a couple minutes each including reverse, drain again and do the same thing. I usually do this three times or until the fluid coming out looks about the same as what is going in. If you do it every 20K I think just one drain and refill is all you need, and that's what I've started doing. Make sure you use the correct type of fluid!

that would be Dextron Mercon 3.. right??? how many quarts? and i am also gonna replace the antifreeze. anyspecific type or brand??
