Default Headlight

Hi. The drivers side headlight on my 1999 S70 is broken. The part the holds the bulbs is loose to the touch. My question: Am I better off buying a new non-adjustable headlight housing, or a used one that can be adjusted? Will the non-adjustable be aimed properly? Thanks.

not sure if the "adjustable" refers to the ability of the bucket to be aligned or if there's a version that has an electric motor adjustment. Either way, I only see one part number for the headlight assembly for the 99 S70 so you may want to get a part number via a dealer web store first. Also, are you missing the spring clip that holds the bulb in or do you have a broken part?

The adjustment on my headlamp aims the reflector housing the bulbs. I still have the bulb spring.

so what broke that it can't be adjusted? anyways, I'd probably use a dealer parts store to find the Volvo part number for the headlight that fits your model/year then go off to search for a replacement based on that. Just check out the store's return policy before ordering. I had to replace a headlight for my 2000 S40 when the adjuster broke and Volvo doesn't sell a replacement. I used an after market part that fit fine even though the adjuster part was slightly different. Keep in mind Volvo sells cars worldwide and the headlight design varies based on local market laws. If you're in the US and have a US car, it should be pretty easy to source the correct part.
