Default Loose headlight unit?

So tonight on my way home from Easter dinner I clipped a deer with my driverside headlight. I checked it on he road and it was still workIng, but when I got home I noticed that the headlight unit itself is loose. Is this an easy fix, or what will it cost to fix? Thanks everyone for your input on this site. It's great for a novice like me!!

Have you checked the mounting locations behind the headlight to see if there still intact yet? There should be (IIRC) 3 bolts that secure the headlight. Check there first to see if there is damage to any of those locations.
Let us know what you find.

Mounts on the headlight have cracked apart. I'm assuming this mean I need a new headlight assembly?

Unless you can find a way to secure it yourself I'd say you're correct.
Can you post a pic of the damage?

If you do get a new headlight, these guys may be able to help you out...Volvo & Saab Auto Dismantlers - New and used car parts. They'll be a whole lot cheaper then a new unit from the dealer.

Next question. I have secured it, but the light points a little higher than normal. How can I adjust this?

On a car without auto-adjust headlights, there should be a screw on top of the headlight. It may be covered by a cap on the top face of the headlight itself. Using an Allen key, you can turn this screw to adjust the level of the beam. Just park with the lights on aimed at a wall, then adjust the repaired light to the level of the good one. If you know what type of headlight it is, I can possibly come up with an image of where the screw is.
