Default Headlights dim after starting

Soon after starting my 1998 S70 T5, the headlights dim a little bit and also stay that way. Is there some voltage drop that I need to look into? If so, how would I do that?

Hey Yoyoman,

I have the exact same problem with my 98 V70. 5 to 15 seconds after starting the lights dim as if the voltage is being dropped a few volts. It's very predictable. I tried a new battery with no change in the situation. Driving at night with rain is dangerous with this problem. The Volvo shop I use was useless. I'm still working on finding the fault. I've read that some people just swap their headlight systems over to an HID system, but something is causing a voltage drop and certainly the cause has been documented somewhere. I just wish I could find out where!
