Hello everyone!! I'm new here and I 'm triying to get help ASAP. I have a 98 Volvo S70. On Friday after I parked my car on a small hill and put the park brake, it does not turn the key. My brakes are also locked and the key turns slightly very close to I but nothing turns on. I already checked the battery but it's good. My mechanic told me to just keep turning the wheel until it unlocks, but I have tried that for hours and it does not seem to work. I also pushed the car and tried to turn it but that does not work either. I got my car towed to my home and it's on a flat surface and I tried turning the wheel (which is a little hard), but nothing. I need urgent help. Any suggestions? has this ever happen to anyone. Please reply.

Does the key just keep turning?

Or doesn't it turn at all?

 

It only turns to 1 ( the first line) but it does not go beyond that, and the radio nor the full lights turn on.

 

Maybe your shifter needs to be set into the right position. Try hitting it (gently) and/or moving it back and forth into parking position while turning the key.
