Smile Help w/ Leaky Trunk

Hey all, noob to the forum here so disclaimer: I tried doing a search for any tips on this topic but couldn't find any so if you know of a thread covering this issue, please post it but don't get mad at me .

So I have a '99 S70 with a leaky trunk. It is substantial enough to accumulate a small amount of standing water in the spare tire well. I bought the car used and the spare tire was rusted out but I thought it was due to the improvised hole in the bottom of the well. I patched that up but I now realize that it was draining for another leak occurring somewhere else in the trunk.

Any tips on how to find the source of the leak? I'd love to solve this problem myself rather than spend some $$. And if anyone has any experience they'd like to share on this problem then I appreciate it a lot!

Thanks guys.

I would remove the trunk panels and run water on the trunk and look from by the seat area for leaks.

hmm, i have this same problem. generally after a wash, and not just rain. i just take the spare tire and accessories out, and let the trunk sit open until it dries. i would be interested in an easy way to fix this.
