Hey all! Proud voovoo owner about a year and a half now. Quick question hoping online can help. 98V70 at a stop in drive begging. Wicked bad hesitation but if I put it in neutral were good to go. I'm guessing fuel pump??????? Any thoughts?

 

Glad to hear you like your volvo! To answer your question it could be a couple of simple things actually. It could either be the fuel pump starting to show signs of aging, the fuel filter starting to get a little dirty, the air filter starting to get a little dirty as well, or just time for a tune up (correct me if I'm wrong, but the 1998 v70 has a pointed ignition system, with a distributor cap, right?). It might be a good idea to check all of those things and throw a nice fuel system cleaner to burn all of the access carbon off of the valves in your engine. I like lucas and 44k. lucas is a great price and does a wonderful job (I believe 44k is the best, but it better be pretty good for costing 20 bucks). Good luck with figuring out whats up!
