Default I need help, engine light p0410

Well, I have a 1998 s70 with about 140k miles. I was having large evap leaks and I think I got those all fixed. I managed to take out the air pump under the battery and hook it straight to power. The dam thing blew air right away. Now I'm stumped. Is there anything else that could cause the engine light to say secondary air pump failure? Thanks in advance.

I was getting that code about once per 30 - 60 days. It turned out that my ignition was bad enough to cause the pump to turn on after the car was running a while. I drove the car about 20 miles, stopped at a traffic light and heard the pump turn on and back off. So, I replaced the ignition and have not seen the code since.
